README file for the GLIMS data download server at https://www.glims.org/download/ The files in this directory contain the entire archive of the GLIMS Glacier Database. They have been prepackaged in a gzipped, tarred format for easy downloading. They are updated periodically,as the database is updated (The "latest" file is a symbolic link to the latest one created). The data are in shapefile format, and the contents of the gzipped, tarred file will be similar to the following: 0 2013-06-11 09:13 glims_db_20130611/ 1385628 2013-06-11 09:14 glims_db_20130611/glims_polygons.shx 801332 2013-06-11 09:13 glims_db_20130611/glims_points.shx 143 2013-06-11 09:13 glims_db_20130611/glims_polygons.prj 306983980 2013-06-11 09:14 glims_db_20130611/glims_polygons.shp 3605644 2013-06-11 09:13 glims_db_20130611/glims_points.shp 171633146 2013-06-11 09:14 glims_db_20130611/glims_polygons.dbf 120782 2013-06-11 09:12 glims_db_20130611/README_GLIMS_DB_20130611.txt 143 2013-06-11 09:12 glims_db_20130611/glims_points.prj 1702683 2013-06-11 09:13 glims_db_20130611/glims_points.dbf All data are in the longitude/latitude coordinate system on the WGS-84 datum.
